Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

Well they're all locations in the park, right? My guess is that they act as a set of directions: milestones to show you you're headed in the correct direction. If we could get a map of the park, I'm sure something like that grotto would be easy to locate. Then its just a matter of following the other milestone locations until you reach the second bench.

Can't find anything else about the Lima Vulcan thing. >_< So atm the "numbers" we need to find - WAIT WAIT I have an idea. The videos are numbered, right? If we figure out the correct sequence (assuming it's a combination of 1-6), then we'll figure out the correct order of the videos! Like, it's not monument-grotto-etc... It might be a different order. I don't think it's about grass - I think it's about the engine. It's a V6 - just the number we're looking for. I don't know jack shit about cars, but if we can come up with a way it might relate... then I think we'll have something.

Gangadolst is clearly lying and trying to dissuade us. D:< Anyway, new video, also.
I must applaad you. Nice going, people buT it Will all bE in vain. You realLy should haVE sussed it out faster. Pity, you cAn't figuRe Things out Sooner.
[3]4 8 11 7 3 12
TWELVE PARTS. There are twelve parts to this, I'm guessing. And we're at 3. ;___; Tags have 1337 for "help hidden in x mission" X mission? Tenth? Or maybe just... this one. I dunno. ):

EDIT: Awwwww fuuuuck. Hoodie guy is bindeded. wat do?

A V6? I see, that makes sense. Keep in mind, we have a lot of numbers now. We have numbers as the titles of dolst's two new videos, series of numbers in their descriptions, numbers as titles of KrapTNomYam's videos, and the numbers 6 (V6, 6 videos so far) and 12 (TWELVEPARTS). And I have a feeling more videos may be forthcoming (actually, I have no idea).

Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

Firing Order of Ford Vulcan engine (manafactured in Lima Ohio) is 1 - 4 - 2 - 5 - 3 -6.

One - Monument - Don't bother. You will never find it.
Four - Statue - Do you really think you can find the Gangadiddle?
Two - Grotto - Just go home and play video games. You will never find the Gangadiddle.
Five - Bench - Save yourself the humiliation and withdraw now. You know this is hopeless.
Three - Pergola - You are not even close. The Gangadiddle eludes you.
Six - Bench - It's no use.

I think a visiting is in order...

YEAH :D Thank you Anachi! Was having difficulty finding it (and of course I google it again now and its all over the place :P), but now that we've got it, we just gotta find someone who can head to that park. Paperwulf, would you be able to? If not, I remember seeing someone on /x/ in the Virginia thread who said "just tell me where I need to go and I'll go there," but he did not want to get involved in the ARG itself. ): If we need him/her, I can post a recruiting thread! o:

Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

Hey everyone. Wow did I pick a bad time to get the flu! :-( So I think I'm up to speed now.
Great job hunter1, you are the epitomie of awesome!
Maymont, is right in my back yard. I need another day or so to recover from this bug, and then I'll see if I can take a trip out there.
Come March 20th, I'm going to be moving out of state! So I hope there's not much more traveling left. I'd love to find the Gangadiddle and hold it in my hands! LOL
I'll edit this soon once I've gotten completely caught up.

Edit: Okay, here's what I can tell you about the vids so far without leaving home. :-)

Krap T Nom Yam:
He's made of "krap" and he noms yams, hence the name. The only thing he can't stand is his own reflection. Obviously, as everyone else has already figured out, you turn it backwards and get Maymont Park. Easy enough.
"Though I enjoy yams, all I really NEED is the numbers!" What numbers? The numbered videos? 1-6. Well I think it's obvious that the videos are numbered, so maybe there's something else to that. Don't know what yet.
"Lima vulcans, etc".
I think that's already been figured out as the firing order of Vulcan engines. What a cool name. I had no idea the Ford ppl had such a great imagination. Maybe that's why they're the only ones who didn't need bailout money! xD

Anyway, I can confirm that the next six videos are definitely footage of Maymont Park. I haven't been there in years, so I don't remember exactly where everything is. But I'll tell you what I do remember.

One:
The first one is a plaque on a statue. This guy loves plaques doesn't he? I'm not familiar with it, but where the pavilion in the background is, I think is where the foxes are.

Two:
Ah yes, the waterfall area with the lion statues. That was closed last time I went there. It looks like the video stops right as another plaque starts to come into view... Three videos in, and I'm beginning to see a pattern here! LOL

Three:
If I'm not mistaken, that's the Italian Garden. The description says "pergola" and a quick google search of what that means confirms it for me: This is a place in the Italian Garden where a bunch of vines are growing up around a... uh... pergola! The last shot is of a stone monument that's under a dome at one end of the pergola. If I remember correctly, you can get some cool echo effects standing under it. Technically not a plaque, but undoubtedly something with writing on it.

Four:
A sweeping view of the bear enclosure! I know exactly where that is. And that bear statue wasn't there last time I went. Funny tl;dr trivia: That bear statue is undoubtedly a monument to the bears that were euthenized a few years back when one bit a kid. There was a big flap about it at the time. I think it was 2006.

Five:
The bench. If I'm not mistaken, that bench is just outside the Japanese Garden. And here's another thing I just remembered. Most of the benches at Maymont have plaques on them with ppl's names and thinks like "donated by" and "in memory of", etc. I'm thinking we need to read these to find the next clue.

Six:
Back to the pergola, we see a brief shot of a bench with DING DING DING!!! ANOTHER PLAQUE! but then we go down the stairs to the outside bottom of the Italian Garden and ZOMG ANOTHER BENCH WITH ANOTHER PLAQUE!!

Conclusion:
IDK! LOL. But it looks like these videos show how to get to locations in the park that have either monuments or plaques with writing. Just like the Jim plaque in Williamsburg, I think cipher text is in these. Even if you visit them in the Ford Vulcan firing order, it still doesnt' add up in my mind as a place where the Gangadiddle is, disappointing as that is for me. Even though 3-going into the pergola, and then 6-going out of it are the last two videos in that order, it still doesn't add up. I don't think the Gangadiddle would be hidden in, on, or under that bench as it's nothing but stone around it (again, if I remember correctly).
So it looks like I'll be taking a bit of a hike soon!

Glad I'll finally be of some use! LOL

Come to think of it... what IS the Gangadiddle, and what can it do? What would happen if we were to destroy it? Can it be destroyed? Is it a physical object at all? Can it move?

So many questions. But I guess they'll all be answered, in due time...

Stuff on Dolst's site comes out to:

NOSSHIDEHMTRUENAME
HUNTMASTERHASBEENBOUNDHISNAME
WILLUNBINDHIM

Okay, so we were on the right track to think that. The only thing me and Jam don't really get is the first line. Maybe anagram? We'll get back to you.

Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

jam here. here's the (possible) anagram we're currently tackling:

NOSSHIDEHMTRUENAME

obviously, the words "true name" stand out there, as do the words "hide" and "no". with that in mind, i came up with a few breakdowns:

TRUE NAME NOSSHIDEHM

words that stand out within the text are SON, SHINE, MIND, DEMON, IS, HIS... ODIN?

TRUE NAME IS NOSHDEHM
TRUE NAME IS DEMON SHH

HIS TRUE NAME NOSDEHM
HIS TRUE NAME DEMON SH

HIDE TRUE NAME NOSSHM

NO HIDE TRUE NAME SSHM
(only thing i deciphered from this is that HMSS could be a James Bond reference - On Her Majesty's Secret Service, a James Bond novel and the one James Bond film to star George Lazenby? So, the Hunt Master is George Lazenby :P)

TRUE NAME HMS NOSIDEH
(I pulled out HMS because HMS is a designation of ships in the British Royal Navy - Her Majesty's Ship - as well as the Swedish Royal Navy - Hans Majestäts Skepp which essentially translates to His Majesty's Ship. maybe if there's a place in Virginia that references a British ship, it has a hint to the name of the Hunt Master.)

Aren't you ignoring the NOSIDEH part?

HMS HIDES NO TRUE NAME: His Majesty's Ship hides no true name.

What is weird is that it actually denies your theory. Maybe indicating a Red Herring? There might be other possibilities, I'll edit/post more if I find anything out.

yeah, I left the NOSIDEH part alone because I couldn't decipher any kind of ship name for it x: i wasn't even thinking of "no hides" when i looked at it.

EDIT: something else jalebi and i noticed. remember the dolst video that had the message TWELVE PARTS embedded into it? it also included these numbers in:

[3]4 8 11 7 3 12

Video 273 had these numbers:
[5]6 11 7 8 12 1 13 12

the two latest posts on dolst.com had these numbers:
[2]6 7 8 9 8 4 10
[10]6 13 13 9 8 11 6 4 12

twelve parts? there was brackets in the message in the new rar, i THINK, but... since I don't have my computer I can't check it. :/ I can post in about an hour when I get home.

I think we caught Gangadolst out on a major error! LOL. I guess the terms of the binding require the clues be solvable. Why? See tvtropes.org, "A Wizard did it", that's why! LOL

So now we get "noshidehmtruename". Aside from being short an S, I still don't know what it means other than hide and true name.

Edit 2:

I got it!
Nos hide HM true name.
Numbers hide Hunt Master true name.

That's what this latest batch of numbers is. If we solve that, we know Hoodie's real name! If we know that...... then what? We can break Gangadiddle's binding?

If so, then it's numbers 1 and 12 of the 12-parter. If not, then it's a troll and/or gamejacker.

I think he wants us to keep the thread alive.
[12]9 6 1 16 18 8 14 5 there, trying to find [1]. Assuming its in the picture? But I think the picture is too small to be a rar. So we were "given" the message - either it's the first, second, or third posts. We may be able to use it as a key, if so. I'll look more into it. I think it's HM. He's posted there before. He knows most of us are from /x/ and /sanc/.

EDIT: Shit, yeah. Even when saved as jpeg, it doesn't open in WinRAR. This one doesn't have anything. But there is a smuggled message? Idk. Will keep looking at the thread. S: The only thing I can POSSIBLY think of is that either his picture's ID is 1. As in:
[1]2 6 8 7 15 9 7 2
But then again, I'm pretty sure that number assignment is random. Oh well.

And awesome work figuring out the message, Paperwulf. :3 Me and Jam were like, poring over all these anagram ideas... |3 we so sirry

So we've got 2, 3, 5, 10 and 12 for sure. x:

Look at that jpeg more closely.

By the way, we are going to need to check /x/ quite regularly, I guess, in case a thread dies before any hunters find and save it. Since there aren't that many hunters, we should make sure we are fairly vigilant.

Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

Yeah, just saw that on /x/. We're special. :3 Anyways, I wrote out the sequence as we have it so far. The "x"es represent parts we've not found yet.

1 2 3 4 5 | 6 7 8 9 8 4 10 | 4 8 11 7 3 12 | x | 6 11 7 8 12 1 13 12 | x | x | 8 15 12 6 | x | x | 6 13 13 9 8 11 6 4 12 | 12 17 12 1 4 18 6 9 | 9 6 1 16 18 8 14 5

Noticed something interesting. Check out part 10 - could the beginning spell "-iddle"? This puzzle's gonna be like the first ones, I think. But we won't really be able to figure it out until we get more, I think. In the meantime, at least there's still the stuff with Maymont Park. And don't worry about /x/ - I'm on there pretty much ... idk, always. And I check /sanc/ regularly too, although there hasn't actually been anything P&P related there since November.

EDIT: New Dolst video! Added [7]8 15 12 6 to the sequence above. Chalkboard contains 11. Transcription added!
iF yOu Really want to fiGht your dEsTiny, you will fAce nothing but heaRtaChe ANd hArdship.
FORGET ARCANA

According to the googles: Arcana refers to the whole of a Tarot deck. Latin for "secret". Perhaps the first six letters of the 12 parts is "arcana" - since this 12 pt puzzle is supposed to undo the binding, and Gangadiddle says that Arcana is the first part of the spell to undo /his/ binding. ARCANA can't correspond with 123456, obviously... Three major arcana that would fit into the first 5 letters of the puzzle could be World (hmm... familiar?), Death, or Devil. Minor arcana might be wands or coins - though I've always heard them called pentacles, not coins. Whatever. Could be a false lead. :3

Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

I think the thing about Arcana is in reference to Gangadolst trying to get us to look up Arcana and focus on that with no mention of the numbers. He seemed really hellbent on telling us that was a clue, and that we should focus on that. Why should we listen to him? :-/ Meanwhile, I think realdolst is alerting us to it being a red herring.
Still, more information is better than less, so there's no harm in researching it anyway.

In other news, I'm already feeling a bit better. I'll see if I'm up for a walk tomorrow. I don't think I'll need to take a notebook with me after all... Actually, I think I will take a notebook, as in one full of paper, since I don't think I'll need my friend's notebook, as in laptop. LOL

Also, I mentioned this on TDRL, but it looks to me like the sequence is [11] 12 17 12 1 4 18 6 9. You had a 22 in place of the 2nd 12.

In fact, I'm going to upload a screen shot... If I can figure out how. o_O

Edit:

Oh screw it, just pause around 0:08 and you can see. It's an easy enough mistake to make. I've made worse. :-)

"NEVERFINDME" sounds like Ganga would've said it, but HM was probably the one who wrote TWELVEPARTS. Maybe they can /all/ include messages. I'm at a loss. Ganga has tried to lead us off track before, for sure, so I wouldn't be surprised. I don't think we'll be able to tell unless we get more parts. >_< Or... I dunno. It might have some importance still, somehow.

Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

Hey Soraryuu, sorry I didn't address your previous post, but I have the answer for you:

Come to think of it... what IS the Gangadiddle, and what can it do? What would happen if we were to destroy it? Can it be destroyed? Is it a physical object at all? Can it move?

Have you read commencement.pdf yet? You really should if you are going out hunting. Even if you're not, it's still a fun read. LOL Anyway, quoted from commencement.pdf:

nature of gangadiddle:
from “elsewhere”. origin unclear. was once massive. responsible for death,
destruction, chaos. created isolated worlds. was ready to harvest inhabitants.
hunt master (i) able to shrink it to a few inches. able to cast binding. binding was
complex. binding was tricky.
gangadiddle now forced to hide. only isolated (you) can work out puzzles to find it.

In short, it is hidden somewhere and has been shrunk to a few inches (tall, I guess).
For a few shots of it, watch Poochee and Pansy episode 6. There's a cartoon version and a "live action" version, which I imagine is the "few inches" version. HTH.

Edit:

@jalebi, no, it was Eebster. :-)

@Eebster you da man. Sorry if I'm being nitpicky. :-)

Edit 2:

Quoted from Eebster's handy list:

[1]12345
[2]6 7 8 9 8 4 10

I seem to remember some of the first Gangy (or HM, I guess) vids had ciphers that went like that. 12345, etc. Like, the 1 is just the first letter to show up, then 2 is the 2nd, etc. So if you had a word with no repeating letters as your first one, it could spell out with 12345, etc.
I also seem to remember that jalebi is very good at figuring those out. (crossposted this here and tdrf)

That would make sense since the first nine numbers are 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9, but the problem I see is that there are other numbers in the list greater than 9.

But my point of posting is that the dolst family entertainment homepage has an update:

NEW MINISERIES ANNOUNCED.
March 16, 2010

Poochee and Pansy has been canceled indefinitely. dolst family entertainment has instead decided to move forward with a live action drama, "Binding Strength, Broken Bonds".
The film is about four people, bracketed by their faith and culture. This coming-of-age story chronicles a family's attempts to break free from an oppressive home life, as well as their conflict between societal norms and familial expectations. Spanning five years, the six-part miniseries sees the protagonists move to nine different cities as they try to find their true identities.
Thirteen year-old Khalid, and his ten year-old sister Aadila must lead two different lives in a nation that shuns their faith. Meanwhile they fear that one of their parents could be proving their people's stereotype true, and might be a terrorist.

"Binding strength, broken bonds" is a pretty clear sign, but the rest is less so. The six-part miniseries spans five years? Presumably the hunt is not expected to take that long. Nine different cities? Again, I'm hoping this isn't an immediate reference to our hunt. And what's with the terrorist parent, lol?

The tag I don't know. Does anybody know what "x6x" might mean? Rule 6 perhaps? I don't know how to decode it.
