Thanks to GacktFan over at TDRL for posting that. I don't know if anyone can even get here now without doing that, but in case your DNS isn't updated yet and you got lucky, then do that so you can still come here until the owner renews the name. And for some odd reason, just using the IP address gives you a host gator 404 page. I don't know how that works, but just using the IP doesn't. :-/

Anyway, is dolst dead now? Or is he "just resting" for awhile? I hope he's ok. I've spent the last couple days boxing stuff up. I leave today for Minnesota. I'll be away from this for a few days at least. Shame too, caus it looks like it's getting good now! Oh well, in case I'm gone for awhile, surf wisely! LOL.

Okay, if you're using Linux, you probably already know how to do this. If you're using a Mac, then I don't know how to do it.
That leaves windows.
On XP (and I guess Vista and 7, but I don't know), the hosts file is in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc directory. The file is just called hosts with no dot extension. Open it in Notepad and just add those two lines at the end of the file. Then, save it.
MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT SAVE AS HOSTS.TXT!!!!
Then, you should be able to access this forum normally.
I hope that helps, and I hope the owner renews the domain name so it won't even be necessary. I tried to email him at his roblox.com address, but it bounced. :-(

Crossposting from TD. Went there temporarily while at Jam's house to post our ideas.

We were thinking that maybe III not IV refers to the order of the plaques. Maybe there was a mistake - it's 132546, rather than 142536, you know? 3, not 4. Still, it doesn't give us any more coherent an answer. Anyway, looking at the tag on the new video, it appears to be an anagram for "Green Cipher"... Another possible cause for our wildly incomprehensible results is because we're using the wrong cipher to translate The Lock. Like, perhaps we should be using the key that Hunter devised. Gonna try that.

Any other ideas? Jam also brings up that perhaps it's saying there's no use for the 4th plaque at all - red herring?

E: Red herring/trout means the same thing here it always means... just jargon for a false lead.

Anyways, I tried the key for that old cipher and got:
c i s d r y t i [ e g l s d e i d ] a c o c . d t i <--- Yeah, no. Idk, maybe "green cipher" simply refers to the fact that III not IV is what we're doing wrong to figure out the cipher specifically for Go Green, not that the cipher for it is elsewhere.

Using 132546, I got:

Still nothing. I don't know what we're doing wrong.

Guys, I think I've found someone. He commented "Confusion here as everywhere." on the Hunt Master's channel, and his channel has what seems to be cryptic videos as well as cryptic comments. He's also commented on videos referring to nightmares, dreams, awakening. He even links us to a blog, with even more of these weird messages. But here it's someone else, not the guy from the youtube channel. It seems like he's having nightmares. He's confused and disturbed. He needs help to understand. In one post, there's talk about a "Nexus Project". Is he part of an experiment? There's so many questions. Is he even a part of The Hunt? Maybe all of this is just one big Red Herring. But I think you guys should still read the blog, just in case. Every tidbit of it, every comment, every hidden message(there are), every old post. Just go ahead and do it. You'll understand everything better. Maybe it's a... "side quest"?

i can only think of three meanings so far:
1) it's referencing GoGreen. this was jalebi's idea, but i don't know what GoGreen is - i'm not up on the latest file downloads and sites, since my laptop died. but, occam's razor - the simplest solution is likely the correct one. this is also sort of disappointing, because we've already solved the GoGreen puzzle, right?

2) "green cryptography" which is sort of like a recycling-oriented form of cryptography:
"recycling cryptographic primitives, components, and design strategies"
this could possibly be telling us that we can use some of the earlier strategies that we've used to solve previous puzzles to solve later puzzles? but this is a very abstract way of looking at things, and the ganga doesn't usually speak in abstract terms.

3) the US government had something called a Green Cipher in the early 1900s, but it is so complicated, I can't begin to make heads or tails of how it operates. besides, we haven't encountered any puzzles that are either this complicated, or that are structured in any way like the Green Cipher, so i doubt this is it.



no ideas for 5clue.txt, either. the only thing that stands out is the name - why is it called 5clue? the earlier clues were called cluea (Clue A), clueb (Clue B), etc... were there any earlier clues labelled with numbers? also, why "5clue" and not "clue5"?

then, obviously, there's the name of the file - RoundThing. what are some "round things" that might be relevant to this situation? i tried circumference, earth, and globe already, btw...

You raise a good point about the 4th clue being the channel. That's very possible. : ) Definitely makes sense.
E: Hmm.. is it possible, if the clue is somewhere in those videos, that we're supposed to be looking for a round thing /in/ the videos? >< Still, then, what's the use of the firing order numbers? fufufu. so close. ._.

Anyways, http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Colonial% … amp;tab=wl seems to be the most literal interpretation of this clue's first line. However, what leads me to think it's /not/ what we're looking for is that:
a) When you zoom in, the street name changes to W. Ruritan...
b) None of the streets/shops around it seem to resemble (in name) anything in the text.

The school seems like a more likely option - although it definitely hasn't had 10 different names. It only opened like a year and a half ago. >_>; But the reason I say that is because there's a Dillard's in the mall right across the highway. Then again, I don't see any other landmarks mentioned in the clue - so whoever is on the ground for this one... god speed. D:

Yeah, HM told us - actually, its on Dreamer/Hal's blog, too... But it's an unrelated ARG. Maybe dolst (IRL dolst, out of game?) is playing it, or promoting it. Or planning it?

Speaking of, Dolst says there's a new video coming, but it's MIA. I don't think there's been any other updates since, on any of the sites... x: Does anyone in the area of VA have other ideas about this Colonial Trail dealy?

An archived thread from /x/, back in September - we know that this has been about a year in the making (just check dolst's twitter!), but this is one thing I wish I hadn't missed. What this is telling me is that either HM's name was chosen as a throwback to this thread, or this was just a thread created by the puppet masters to gauge people's reaction on an ARG of this nature. At first I thought it was the former, but the way phrases are repeated, mention of bindings, the phrase "tx complete" and the art style - I'd say this was created by the PMs. Give us more insight into the plot, the nature of this whole multidimension deal, and leaves us to guess if the creature anons talked to was the Gangadiddle or not. :3 Pretty cool as like, a supplemental easter egg.

E: New twitter updates. The video's gonna be sometime in the next few days. Still kinda "wait wut" over the update on the gangadiddle account:

Jam told me thismorning that the jumbled letters could be rearranged to form Poochee and Pansy. When I was looking at it, I saw "puppets" could easily be formed. Still some letters that don't fit. I dunno about this one. I'm wondering if the number of underscores means anything - after some words its __, and after others its _. I can't think of a correlation between Prime and the jumbled letters, but I'll keep trying while at work. x:
