I figure, hey, you guys have worked so hard on this, it would suck to not have boots on the ground to get data. Anyway, I'll keep an eye on the thread :P

Check back a page or maybe two and you will find a good map of where we really need somebody to go. There is a monument there, and its inscription is probably needed to find the next clue. We need the entire inscription, exactly as it appears on the monument. A photo would be fantastic.

E: Just decided to crosspost a bit from TDRL. I solved the latest crytpogram, revealing the deadline for the hunt to be March 15, 2013. That's pretty far off, but we don't know how much there is left to solve, so we don't want to just slack off. We still need somebody to go to VA so we can solve the key on 5clue and get to the next step.

He is obviously talking about Paladin. I have been wondering this myself. Is he going to come back, or will we need to find somebody else to go to VA?

Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

I'm here. I've set a date for destination to probably this weekend. Havent been on for a while due to exams, but they're pretty much over.

So, I'm looking for a monument near this location?
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou … 6&z=13

Side note, saw the G's Tweet. Seems like nobody else is gonna get another shot at this, so I'm gonna attempt to be as active as possible when I leave that day. More info on departure to follow within the week.

Side side note: Departure confirmed for Friday or Saturday. If I'm lucky, and thats a big IF, my friends decide to stay in the area overnight, and you guys figure out the clue, I could assist in the next clue on site if you're quick enough. Besides that, I really hope someone gets this message within the next 2-3 days.

Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

Hey everyone, back on the Hunt after a nightmare of a time. I won't go into details, but I am finally moved in, here in the great state of Minnesota.
Looks like you guys figured out another clue location. I was thinking you would have had this thing solved by now! But I'm kinda glad you didn't. I've missed working on this, even tho I'm not in va anymoar. :-(

Hey Paladin, the location you want is

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou … h&z=19

It's in Claremont, not Spring Grove. I think Hunter1 went there but there was no indication it was a clue location then, if I'm not mistaken. Again, I've been out of the loop for awhile. So yeah, that circle should have a monument or 2. Why do I say "or 2"? Because of gangadiddle's latest tweet:

in the round, there are 2. be certain to uncover the whole truth.

Also, one may be covered by something. Thanks for making the trip! It says there's a library near by too, so maybe you'll get lucky and they'll have an internet connection tho probably not as it looks like its out in the country. Good luck and happy trails!

Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

Glad someone's still here. 2 hours 51 minutes to get there, not bad. I'm taking a side trip to williamsburg while I'm down there, so It's worth it. As for an internet connection, I got a laptop and a blackberry, and both are capable of uploading things here, so You should be able to be in the loop. A shame you're out of the state, but I'm still grateful that some folks are still active. I'll dump more information in the next coming days, probably going saturday.
Street view reveals two plaques, and a business nearby. I'll do a little digging, see if I can get a person who works there to relay what the plaque says.

Good stuff. I like the way this ARG incorporates actual digging with online puzzle-solving, but it is a bit difficult for a community of hunters spread across the world.

Update:
Shit hit the fan on my plans there, I'm still going, but its only for one day. I hope this doesn't involve actual digging. Leaving early in the morning on SATURDAY, MAY 8TH.
Hope to see you online friends, we only have so much time.

What do you get when you cross 3 college girls, 10+hours of driving, 4 police checkpoints, a beach, and a blackberry with photo capibilities? Your data. Thought I could attach the pictures on here, but I can't, so I'll send a link to it.

Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

Good question :I
Quiyoughcohannock, nice name, made me lol.

"the knight has found them. " Via Gangaddidle twitter.
Looks like I got what I came for. Now to figure out what we're looking at.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_(Orgain)_Allen Bio on the chapter origins.

www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~vaschsm/CMAH.html Saw this driving through when I did a search on the name while I was in town, ironically, there was a round there too, but nothing noteworthy of pictures. I also got chased out with my friends by security.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claremont_Estate Was linked on WIlliam Allen's bio, implying that this is the mansion I was at. Unfortunately, wikipedia has it wrong, and this mansion is in England. Factcheck 1, Wikipedia 0.
They also called it a "Palladian" manson. Paladin, Palladian, cool story bro.

Also, on rootsweb, there's a chapter called "Ghosts and Other Things." If there's something in the book related to this, I'm gonna have to eat my hat.

Re: Poochee and Pansy (THE TRUTH) (a.r.g.)

Good job Paladin! I don't think the manor was on the agenda, but good job finding it anyway! lol
I'm going to play with the info you found and see what I can come up with. Will report back with any findings.

Edit: Here's what the monuments say.

1st:
IN COMMEMORATION OF ALL
VETERANS OF THE ARMED FORCES
OF THE UNITED STATES
NOVEMBER 15 (16?), 1997
CLAREMONT, VIRGINIA

I'm not sure if that was a 15 or a 16. Do you remember, Paladin?

2nd:
MAY 5, 1607
THE ENGLISH SETTLERS VISITED HERE
THE PRINCIPAL VILLAGE OF THE
QUIOUGHCOHANACH INDIANS
-
THIS MARKER IS ERECTED BY
THE COLONEL WILLIAM ALLEN CHAPTER
N.S.D.A.R.
1930

Time to start assigning numbers to letters I guess. But which one do we use? Do we use both? I'm too tired for this right now. Gotta work tomorrow. Also, here's what I believe to be the relevant contents of 5clue.txt again:

The Lock:
34 37 137 119 44 84 67 111 9 82 70 73 120 27 132 15 . 68 22 121

The Key:
You must Force your way to the front of Each Line, and be Armed with the First Word.

(The first part has obviously been solved, as the monuments have been found, and it looks like gangatamer has confirmed that we got it right.)

Just another thought: I think maybe the fact that certain words in "The Key" are capitalized is significant. Armed and Force may be a reference to the armed forces monument.

My brain is too burned out to figure it out tonight though.

Edit 2:
couldn't let it go... I had to correct my "teh" up there. LOL!

I zoomed in, and the number's top looks straight, I'm 99% certain its a 15.

now... I'm gonna mess with it a little bit....
This is assuming the numbers matter, without puncuation.
(x-y)z x-beginning number y-ending number z-how many numbers
IN COMMEMORATION OF ALL (1-20) 20
VETERANS OF THE ARMED FORCES (21-44)24
OF THE UNITED STATES (45-61)17

THE PRINCIPAL VILLAGE OF THE (130-153)24

THE COLONEL WILLIAM ALLEN CHAPTER (197-225)29
N.S.D.A.R. (226-230)5

Since I'm assuming the Key refrences the monument as the key to the cypher, I'll assign it.
34-37-137-119-44-84-67-111-9-82-70-73-120-27-132-15-.-68-22-121

...Well then, there are only a few options available.
One, I forgot to mention I'm not very good at math.
Two, its a load of gobbledygook
And three, I probably did something horribly wrong.

...carry on.

Anagram?

Also, how did you translate 34 37 137 119 44 84 67 111 9 82 70 73 120 27 132 15 68 22 121 into letters?
Doing this in dec/char resulted in "%w,TCo    RFIxDy
or
"%ëw,TCo    RFIxäDy

Each letter is a number from 1 to the end, at least that was what I thought, When I took the numbers to the letters, thats what I got. And I'm an idiot, so that didnt work. Or it did and I just missed an number in the translation. Or I just fail really hard.

Crossposting from TDRL:

Numbering the second monument only (not the Armed Forces one, which is for the Key) gives HEAINTGOTNONAVEL.HTM for the lock. He ain't got no navel? I don't get it.

Anyway, the URL leads here: http://dolst.9k.com/gangadiddle/heaintgotnonavel.htm.

Are there any TV shows that got canceled with a main character named Adam, perhaps?

E: As for the Key, taking the first word of each line gives "IN VETERANS OF NOVEMBER CLAREMONT." Could it be a clue itself (perhaps referring to Veterans Day)? I don't see what else to do with it.
