Got it; you just read off every prime numbered letter. I put X's by the prime-numbered letters, then put those in order. They are NOT scrambled. Here is the result.

Guess that's where we're going next.

I have to head down there this weekend, but I won't be able to head near Richmond area. Stuck at Alexandria. I doubt that part will be involved, as it's 100 miles from Richmond.

what the hell is this

Same thread it's been from the beginning...?
Anyway, if we aren't able to get anyone within a day or so, I think it's wise we post another advertising thread on /x/, or perhaps unfiction. Travel is necessary, right? Otherwise this is gonna go unfinished, and we don't want that. :/
Offline
It will not go unfinished. We will go back in May if it's not solved by then and take as much time as we need.

Remember that there is a(n unknown) time limit. We(you) should still get that done ASAP. There's no rush, but unneccesary waiting should be avoided.

No, just no one is in a position to head to Virginia.
Except me. I fly down to Alexandria tomorrow. Sadly, I'm only 15 2/3 years old, not even a permit :/
Besides, Not heading there, sadly

Yeah, don't get me wrong - I'm here, I'm still around. Just been violently sick the past week and, on top of it, I really got nothing to report. I can't go to VA. If anyone here's got friends in Virginia... hell, do any forum natives think other members would be interested in getting involved? We could recruit here. Why not?

Same here, VA's a little tricky to get to as I don't own a kayak.
25,910 km – about 56 days 6 hours
On another note, more serious puzzle solving can be found next week here: http://team4a.ryux.net/index.php

Have you considered digging through the Earth? It's more direct.

Buhhh. Update on DFE:
dolst family entertainment would like to update our faithful viewers and investors on our status.
We are currently restructuring the company, but everything is still on schedule.
Our relationship with ISOLATED Media is still strong. We will soon be making an in-house announcement of the deadline for the Talent Hunt. We are happy to report the deadline is still quite a ways off, but a date will soon be made known to our favorite media group!
As always, Surf Wisely.
DERPok so... I'm guessing we need a field bro ASAP.

Looks like we have a deadline...
The first image is Mercury, or Hermes, Messenger of the Gods, Greek Gods, if I am correct.... I am unsure of the other meanings though...
Then
Opening night:
Positions get you in.
Powers that be say:
Stay Rooted in positions.
EDIT:
This may be linked to dolst's twitter. He said he had a Hermes phone...

http://twitpic.com/1ewk04
http://twitpic.com/1ewk4z

This might be like the dolls... Can any see if there are hidden files in these?
EDIT: Well, I couldn't find any rar files in the pictures... Maybe someone else will have better luck.

HM's Twitter page says "Greek Mercury." The Greek equivalent of the Roman god Mercury was Hermes, so I assume that's what it means. Then we have pictures of dolst disassembling his Hermes phone and a picture in the video "deadline" or Hermes. So that part of the message at least is clear.
But what does Hermes have to do with a date?
E: Actually, there are hidden, password protected files. Just open the pics with WinRAR.

Wait... What about the mercury retrograde?
I believe that starts on April 17th or 18th... Then it ends May 11th...

Note that you need to go to "View full size image" and download the full size images to get the text files. So far the files are:
5letters.txt
3letters.txt
8lettersmore.txt
8moreletters.txt
9letters.txt
I'm not sure that is the correct order, though; I might check that later. All are password protected, and "Hermes" is not the password.
E: I'll bet the text in the video "deadline" is the clue for the password(s). I don't know what it means, though. I tried OPPSR just in case, but that doesn't work.
For reference, the text is:
Opening night:
Positions get you in.
Powers that be say:
Stay Rooted in positions.
E2: New video out on the dolst channel. It features a snail crawling across the ground accompanied by thrash metal. It's pretty funny actually.
The only thing relevant to the hunt is part of the description, which reads:
dolst — April 11, 2010 — An idea I had awhile back. Finally did it. Whatever. pws are positions. Surf Wisely.
Presumably he is referring to the passwords to these text files. I don't know exactly what he means by "positions," though. Places, maybe? Maybe the order in which the pictures go? I'll try some things out.
E3: Eureka! The passwords are 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, although not in that order. The text files contain a single line, beginning with a number in brackets which is the same as the password for that file. They are (in order):
5letters.txt wrote:
[1]One through five.
9letters.txt wrote:
[2]36 49 36 64 81 81 100 64 25
3letters.txt wrote:
[3]512 1331 1728
8moreletters.txt wrote:
[4]4096 625 20736 28561 38416 16 10000 50625
8lettersmore.txt wrote:
[5]32768 3125 16807 243 32768 59049 59049 100000
Let's get cracking on that code!

These are all perfect squares of 6,7,6,8,9,9,10,8, and 5
[2] has the perfect squares of 6,7,6,8,9,9,10,8, 5.
3letters.txt wrote:
[3]512 1331 1728
[3] has the perfect cubes of 8, 11, 12.
8moreletters.txt wrote:

These are also perfect squares of 64,25,144,169,196,4,100, and 225
which are all perfect squares themselves of 8,5,12,13,14,2,10,15
[4] has the perfect fourth powers of 8, 5, 12, 13, 14, 2, 10, 15
8lettersmore.txt wrote:
[5]32768 3125 16807 243 32768 59049 59049 100000
You guessed it, [5] has the perfect fifth powers of 8, 5, 7, 3, 8, 9, 9, 10.
I don't have any idea about the other three right now, and the only thing I tried was alphabet code, but I thought it was at least a baby step
Well I hope that helped!
So what we have is:
[1]One through five
[2]6 7 6 8 9 9 10 8 5
[3]8 11 12
[4]8 5 12 13 14 2 10 15
[5]8 5 7 3 8 9 9 10
Give me a few minutes to think about this.
E: Well I'm not really sure and I unfortunately don't have any time right now, but clearly each number represents a letter (hence the filenames), so maybe they are the same numbers as were used in the previous cryptogram? Somebody should check this.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
My name is Paladin, and I am your new field agent. I've been watching the Gangadiddle ARG for a while now, and it appears that you have no users in Virginia. Well, today's your lucky day. I live in Lynchburg, and am willing to help. In other words...where to chief?

Gentlemen?
I do believe we already have two people living in Virginia already, including myself.

Which is what I can do. Having a car, being a college student, and having weekends off to do whatever I like, I may be able to help you.
